The bolt holding the bracket in place is one of the original bolts that holds the dash in place. I backed it out, filed the slot in the bracket large enough to accomodate the bolt, placed double-sided tape along the back edge of the bracket to reduce any abrasion to the dash, then screwed the bolt through the bracket back into the dash.

I need to secure the audio cable along the edge of the dash still.
