I wanted to add some driving and fog lights to my H2.
To provide a place to mount the lights I purchased a used OE brush guard via e-bay and a Warn light bar made specifically for mounting four lamps on the H2 OE brushguard (the OE guard only supports mounting two lamps). I put four PIAA 580 lamps on the light bar. The two on the outside are fogs and the two on the inside are driving lights. The PIAA lights come with some pushbutton switches with their logo that you can tape/velcro to your dash. I opted to install integrated switches into the dash. Hummer dealers and a number of people on h2source.com use a large round rocker for control of off-road lights. Unfortunately, these are big enough that to mount two of them next to eachother, I either had to mount them outside switch control panels on the dash surface, or up in the ceiling mounted console placing them in an odd position for controlling the lights quickly. Instead, I found some mini-rocker switches that are small enough that I could mount two of them side-by-side under the rear wiper control switch at the left side of the dash. They don't blend with the dash styling that well, but they're compact, in a convenient location, and it still looks well integrated. |
